Honda Sensing® Applications Include:

  • Collision Mitigation Braking System™ (CMBS™): This feature automatically applies brake pressure to slow the vehicle down when an unavoidable collision is detected, such as an unseen oncoming vehicle.
  • Road Departure Mitigation System (RDM): This system detects when an un-signaled lane departure occurs, and adjusts the vehicle steering and applies brakes as needed to maintain proper lane alignment.
  • Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC): A fantastic feature to be utilized on the highways outside of Burlington, ACC utilizes not only keeps the vehicle going autonomously, it adjusts the speed as needed to maintain a safe distance between any detected vehicles.
  • Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS): Like RDM, this feature also applies steering torque and brakes as needed to help keep you in a detected lane. This feature is definitely beneficial when high winds are present on the road, though sudden changes in the weather can hinder accuracy.
  • Traffic Sign Recognition (TSR): Utilizing a small front camera, this feature detects important oncoming signs, such as posted speed limits, Yield signs, and Stop signs.
  • Blind Spot Information System: This feature kicks in when a signaled turn on the street is engaged and utilizes a camera to alert you with a beep sound if another vehicle or other obstruction is in the vehicle's blind spot. Beeping continues until the obstruction is clear or the turn signal is disengaged.
  • Automatic High Beams (AHB): This feature is activated when the driver turns the headlight lever to the AUTO setting. The AHB headlights are engaged when driving at night above 25 miles per hour and automatically turn the high beams on or off, depending on surrounding road conditions.

It should be noted that while these driver-assistive features are quite helpful, they are not to be substituted for alertness on the driver's part. Proper attention to surroundings and safety must be maintained at all times when driving on any road.
